Anna Maria Island, just a little bit of paradise....
Located on the west coast of Florida, Anna Maria Island is the barrier between the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay. Anna Maria Island is a laid back community that has been described as 'Old Florida' with white sand gulf beaches and only one building over three stories. Anna Maria Island is comprised of three very unique and different cities, Anna Maria City - which is mainly residential, Holmes Beach - which is both residential and business oriented, and Bradenton Beach - which is residential and tourist oriented. All three cities have wonderful restaurants, shopping, and both gulf and bay front beaches. Anna Maria Island is 8 miles west of the city of Bradenton, connected by the Manatee and the Cortez bridges.
The island has 3 fishing piers, Rod and Reel, Anna Maria City Pier and the Bradenton Beach City Pier. All three offer a unique dining experience watching the anglers and the pelicans competing for the fish.

If you prefer seeing the island or fishing from a charter boat, these services are readily available, along with various water sport activites

Anna Maria Island has a number of award winning restaurants. Locals and tourists all take advantage of the FREE trolley service to travel around the island, eating fine food and enjoying the gulf or bay beaches and amazing sunsets.

Anna Maria Island and the surrounding areas support an active art community. From the island galleries to the Village of the Arts in Bradenton, and the galleries of near-by Sarasota, you're sure to find that special memory of your Florida vacation. Make sure to check in our island newspapers or at the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce for the current cultural events on the island.

You'll find a lot to do on Anna Maria Island, or do nothing at all -- just relax on the white sand beaches all day or enjoy a quiet walk along the shore and a spectactular sunset in the evening.

We have so much here on our island, and there is even more beyond the island to experience:
